Grab your foodie friends and get Instagram ready because Betty Ringer Ice Cream kicks off its opening celebration today 5-9 p.m.
Located across the park from CiboDivino Marketplace, this ice cream shop is effortlessly unique. All ice cream flavors are made from scratch by Stephen Smith, the owner of Betty Ringer Ice Cream and founder of Nib Chocolates. The base is made in the French custard style using only four basic ingredients: cream, milk, sugar and egg yolks.
Customers can choose from more than a dozen ice cream flavors, including classic flavors like chocolate chip, dark chocolate, Madagascar vanilla bean or peanut butter and brownies. If you’d rather scoop into something unconventional, try flavors like the sweet corn and blackberry jam, roasted banana pudding or Ube, which is made from a purple yam found in the Philippines. The frozen treat selection will also include a sorbet and a vegan option.
In the back room of Betty Ringer Ice Cream resides Smith’s onsite workshop where customers can take a peek and watch Smith creating fresh batches of his one-of-a-kind treats. Eventually, people will be able to take classes in the workshop to learn the process of turning a few ingredients into gourmet desserts.
Other items available for purchase at the shop include an assortment of homemade cookies, chocolates and Smith’s signature caramels.
